More kowtowing to the politically correct movement at the Legislature. George Southwell’s controversial murals are now shrouded as some find them offensive. Others would remove them in their entirety — at taxpayers’ expense, of course.
George Bernard Shaw said that all we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history. I would add a coda to that: and therefore we should stop trying to rewrite it. Our past is our past, warts and all. Let’s move on.

    I completely agree with you on this Bob. Each time we try to hide and/or rewrite our history we actaully loose yet another piece of it. We can only hope that some future government will see fit to uncloak these wonderful paintings.
